Postby [slider] » Mon Jan 05, 2004 9:32 am

i used to have time stamp in the server notices window on my old network, lost for new one, helpful for finding kill times etc, i seem to have lost this feature somehow and would like it back, what did i do to remove it, any simple way to get it back?

You've prolly figured this out by now, but in case you havent, or others are interested, here's the solution:

**Remember to alwayz install any available patches for whatever build of Invision2 you're running .. which, for your own benefit, should be one of the newer releases, if not the current build**

Most likely your settings weren't saved after disconnecting from one server and joining another (or being disconnected & rejoining the same server) .. the option for timestamping is in Invision -- Main Settings - Advanced tab (I use HH:nn). Decide which format you want then click Apply, then OK. Now save your settings (Invision -- Save All Settings).. You'll now have to restart Invision if the timestamping change didnt take effect immediately.

Remember to alwayz press the disconnect button (green circle which shows you're already connected to a server) BEFORE hitting the close button (large X in upper right corner as in all windows appz) .. disconnecting BEFORE closing gives Invision time to save your settings before shutting down Invision.

Have you enabled timestamping in mIRC Options? File-- Options -- IRC -- Messages check the Timestamping box and make sure you have a format for the timestamp (mine is: [HH:nn] )That might fix it for you ...thx to BluJ for that tip, which I saw him give to another user, in irc

As to your problem with settings not being saved, refer to point 3 of this post: http://invision.lebyte.com/i2forum/viewtopic.php?t=3106
