URL Link bug?

Postby SoNaRWaVe » Thu Jan 08, 2004 12:47 pm

i don't know if anyone is having this problem, but i'm going to try to explain the best way i can.

When someone paste a link in a channel, when it gets too long in the chat channel, it gets separated into 2 lines.
e.g <Nick>http://www.linkhereistoolong.com/so
linkcontinueshere.html

when i double click that, my browser only opens up the http://www.linkhereistoolong.com/so part and the remainder (linkcontinueshere.html) isn't in the link in the browser.
any idea if this is a mirc problem or invision problem? any help is greatly appreciated. thank you.

mIRC

Postby Riamus » Wed Sep 01, 2004 7:51 pm

That is a mIRC issue that is not possible to be changed. You might try right clicking on the link and seeing if the options in that menu help you. Otherwise, you have to copy/paste it. Of course, you can complain on the mIRC forum. :)
You can find me at #Invision on irc.irchighway.net or #OldGames on irc.undernet.org if you need me for anything.

I have the same problem.
I tried copy/past but it still only uses the first line of the url.

I'll go and check the mIRC forums to see if they got a fix :)

Good luck finding one... as far as I know, there isn't a fix.

weird

Postby Ace » Mon Mar 21, 2005 9:39 am

I did some testing and found the weirdest things.

I have the L|B version 3515 with mirc 6.14 in one pack running on 2 machines.

I only have the problem on 1 of the machines and only with URLs with a ? in it.
Using Avant browser as a default browser on both machines set as default browser but it wants to open the URLs in IE.

Anyone got a idea ?

Default Browser

Postby Riamus » Mon Mar 21, 2005 12:32 pm

You can change your default browser in the mirc.ini file, I believe. Use a search on google for it and you should find the text to insert into the file very easily. I looked it up long ago and found it very easily... can't remember the format at the moment, tho.

As for it having issues with ?, that's a mIRC thing still... I can't fix issues that mIRC has.
You can find me at #Invision on irc.irchighway.net or #OldGames on irc.undernet.org if you need me for anything.
