Saved settings get corrupted TOO often

Postby Merak » Wed Jul 09, 2003 2:32 am

A problem I always experienced with Invision is it loosing ALL the saved settings whenever, for any reason, you quickly disconnect a reconnect to a server.

This is VERY FRUSTATING since you have to spend 20 minutes re-configuring everything. Even the presets (encrypt key, nick tag) go away.

IMO this is the worst problem in Invision and should be on the top of the TODO list. There are other scripts that lack many cool features Invision has, but are robust in keeping the settings.

ok im pretty sure that I have FINALLY nailed this problem down as best possible. Provided one has servers set up as they should in the server list and those that are not are properly configured the next version should fix this problem. There is also new features which allow you to archive/restore your settings. Also an new experimental feature (highly experimental) will allow you to use global settings for most all critical settings like file servers etc.. sort of a one-for-all settings.
