Hi,
i am wondering if it is possible to limit my download speed when downloading files from other people on irc?
I am on a small network and dont want to use all the bandwidth!
So am i able to set my download speed to like 10kb/s?

not sure u can limit your download that I am aware of I know u can limit your upload in the dcc options

If you are downloading files, it has nothing to do with the network you are connected to.

DCC file transfers are peer-to-peer, not through the network. You are not using any bandwidth from the network itself, only that of your connection, and the connection of the other PC.

Buy the other person on your LAN a ticket for the cinema and keep hogging all the bandwidth.

there is a program called netlimiter that will allow you to limit per connection / per program or all connectionions from one program (like if you have multiple downloads on mirc etc)
