Unable to resolve local host

I am running windows XP, ZoneAlarm Pro, and a Linksys Router... i am rinning 2.0 Build 1816... I have windows xp firewall off.. zonealarm setup to remember mirc and allow on all ports. My router is setup to forward the specified ports and i still cant send.. and i am getting a Unable to resolve local host errror when i try to send. Mirc used to work fine.. i was running norton... unistalle dit installed zonealarm... changed some setting on my router.. mirc stopped running.. i fixed the settings.. mirc started working again.... and now i has stopped... i have comed for hours and days for an answer... i have also tried the newer version of inviosion with no luck and also uninstalled and reinstalled this version. So Please someone help me!

go to file > options > connect > local Info

once there, you need to do a few things.

UNcheck all except the "server" radio button under "lookup method"

You will then have to enter your host and IP manually.

you can find these by going to a command prompt.

on Win9x/ME type: winipcfg

on WinXP/2K type: ipconfig /all

if you are using a router, you will not get the correct info needed.

You need to use the WAN IP, and host that your ISP assigns, in which case you will need to go to your router config to find the correct values.

So why all of a sudden does it not get my IP address??? Well i tried it and now the dcc send window will open.... and when someone types my triggers the windo says waiting for acknowledgement.. but goes no further. Thanx for the fast reply.. but what should i do now?

ok i had the host name wrong.. but it does work now.. but i still want to know why it is doing this... and when i reboot or loose my current ip.. will i have to type in my new ip??
