Caché Directory Index for Searching - NOT WORKING!

Postby EMLF » Sat Jul 05, 2003 9:29 pm

I've just realized that Invison rarely manages to create an FServer Caché File.
Those are the files: FSdir1 for Trigger 1, FSdir2 for Trigger 2 and so on
When creation of those caché fails, Invision shows inside server window the following message:
* /run: unable to open 'command' (line 811, ifsmgr.mrc)
That one above is for EFnet Trigger 1
When I change trigger's name or folders, at most, 2 of triggers might work, but generally, none trigger creates its respectively caché file at all!
Please, is there some workaround for this bug?!!? Or at least, what provokes a trigger setup create a caché or not?!?!!?
Thanks in advance!

I know there's a bug if you use networked drives in the form of \\host\share\...
To make it work, attach the directory to a drive letter instead.

:?
Methinks I'm being misunderstood!
I'm trying to use "Caché Directory's Index for Searching"; but as I said before, Invision's not creating those files!!! That is: FSdir1, FSdir2, FSdir3, FSdir4, FSdir5; respectively for triggers 1,2,3,4,5 inside Invision2\Invision\Settings folder!!!
Only rare times Invision is able to create one or two of them, but never all 5 at once; normally Invision doesn't create any one at all. And the reason why it works or not is a mystery for me :(
It's like as if this feature were a false illusion!
"Fast Indexing Method" is turned on as well.
I hope for the day I see a brighter light on this issue! Mayhapen?!? :?:

I'll try it out turning it off Fast Index Caché to see if that's the problem. Hope so!

What a miracle! It's really worked turning it off Fast Indexing Method! Thanks a lot for thine patience light, cnils!
It'd be good to put Fast Indexing Method setup together with File Server Setup; since the previous makes the other work or not!!! O_o
Now I'll have a faster FServer ^_^
Thanks for all. Cya!
