Goto the Invision menu / Main Settings / Channel Ops.

I haven't been able to get it to work... good luck!

sorry, forgot to mention vers.
I've tried this on 2520, 18something and 1515 without success.

Has anyone gotten a combo to work?

Yes, Imager and I got together and tried it. We both enabled it and added ourselves as ops for that specific channel. besides the trigger command I also went thru the menu system under ctcp and tried it there.

This function does work. Best way for me to explain is going to be long, but I think it will clear this up.
This is supposing you want other people to be able to get ops from YOU using the /ctcp <client nick> <opme> <channel> <pass> command.
First, in your Invision | Main Settings | Channel Ops section, go to the bottom left corner and add the channel you want this to work in. Type it in the box, then press the "ADD" button. Go to the bottom and press "APPLY". Now go back up to the top of the section and check the box that refers to the "OPME" command. Press "APPLY" again. You can now press "OK" to close your main settings box.
Now you must add people to your User List by right clicking on their name and adding them as fellow ops (you can also use elite if you wish). Now go to your user list and highlight the channel you want this to take place in (there is default and a channel - make sure you choose the channel). With the channel highlighted place a check in the box labled "Remote Op". Press "APPLY" and then press "OK".
The next step is to have that same person (the one you added to the user list) set a password. This is done with the /ctcp <client nick> SETPW <password> <password>. (REMEMBER: This particular example is for use when YOU are the person people are getting remote ops from) Once that is done the user can now use the /ctcp <client nick> <opme> <channel> <pass> command to gain ops in the channel you set in your channel ops settings.
This may sound confusing but it works - I have done it with a serving clone and my main nick. I have it set both ways, having done this exact procedure with both nicks, so that I can gain remote ops from either nick with either nick. You need to make sure that the person setting the password actually remembers that password.

Hopefully that helps because I truly do use it and that is the way I set it up on my system. BTW, I am currently using 2 copies of build 1816, however I first set this up using build1816 for my serving nick and build2520 for my main nick - and it worked across both builds (and still does using 2 of build1816).

Thanks for the details. I never thought of adding the channel to "channels effected by defense". I'll give that a shot ASAP. I'll update the forum with "hopfully" my success.
