Invision sounds problem

Hi i just installed invision 3.2 and mirc 7.1, setup all my features how i wanted them and all that.

my problem is with invision sounds, this is a fresh install, sounds in mirc options is enabled, all invision sounds and nickalert in general settings are enabled, but i only hear the mirc beep on msg/queries, how do i get the invision query sound to play and not the beep, beep is slightly unpleasant lol.

yes all others seem to be working fine, i dont use the dcc features, so idc about those, but connect, startup, join,op,voice etc seems to work fine, just the query "you have a private message".......well it started working, but i also am hearing the beeps from regular mirc. in tools > options > sounds > query is labeled as "no sound"

Type:
//echo -a $r.set(Invision,SndOpt13)

That should say On.

Type:
//echo -a $r.glob(Themes,Sound13)

That should give the path and filename for the sound for Private Messages. Verify that the file is present on your computer.

Type:
//splay $r.glob(Themes,Sound13)

That should play the private message sound file if it's present on your computer.

Let me know the results of those tests.

all 3 tests passed, sounds are on, but again as to my other post thanks for the help.

If all tests passed, then it is hard to say what exactly is happening without running some troubleshooting tests. You'd need to insert an echo line above where it is set to /splay that sound file and see if it echos. That will tell you if the event is triggering.

I don't use any sounds, so I could be wrong here, but.... If I remember correctly, the sound only occurs if the active window is *not* the query to the person sending the message. This is because when the window is active, you probably know when you receive a message and don't need to hear it on every line from that person. In addition, I think it also will only play the sound once for each person who sends a message while the window is not active. After that, it won't play again until you activate that query and close it again. This is for the same reason... you don't want to hear that sound on every line sent from someone. Again, I could be wrong and can't verify it right now, but keep that in mind while testing.
