First, the channel question because that is the quickest to answer. That is not an Invision setting. Every network/server has a limit to the number of channels you are allowed to join. If you don't have MOTD disabled, you can usually view this information in your Status window when you connect. It's something like MaxChans -- I don't have it open here, so I can't see the exact name, but it's something like that. If you want to be in more, you could *attempt* to talk the people who run the network you are on into increasing the limit, but I don't think you'll have any luck. Or, you can run 2 clients and connect to some channels on one client and some on another. Don't try connecting more than once with Invision to the same network or you'll lose settings.

You mention an Options menu. If you are talking about the mIRC options (Alt-O), then you are correct. Changing some settings in Invision WILL change mIRC's settings. That's supposed to happen. Only change the Invision settings for those items. If you mean some other Options menu, please let me know which one you are referring to.

I would suggest the Installing Invision sticky thread to help explain setting up your settings. Also, depending what's actually happening to your settings, I'd probably suggest just reinstalling Invision by following that sticky thread step by step.

Keep in mind that settings for one network are different from settings for another network and those are different from the global settings (the ones set while offline).

Global settings are settings that you want to be the default for all NEW network connections. If you've already connected to a network before setting up the global settings, the global settings you set up will not change your settings for that network. You need to set up global settings *before* connecting to any networks. The sticky will point that out.

Network settings are set up while connected to a specific network. The first time (only the first time) that you connect to a specific network after installing Invision, it will set the network settings up to be the same as the global settings. After that, all changes to global settings will not affect that network's settings. And any changes to the settings while on that network will not affect any other network's settings. You need to make changes on all networks individually if you're not using the global settings before connecting to them. This is why it's good to set up global settings first (as mentioned in the sticky thread).

If you're still having trouble, please let me know.
