fserve from different HD

Postby mjm8975 » Mon Mar 21, 2005 5:01 am

I wonder if anyone can help. Ive set up Mirc (6.14) and ivision and my routers firewall and all seems ok, except i can only fserve files that i have stored in the mirc folder. I keep most of my files on a seperate drive. When i try to set up invision to fserve from that drive people can get as far as seeing the folder but not the contents of the folder. I think i have my router set up correctly as like i said it works fine if i fserve files from within the mirc folder.

Thanks in advance

Please paste exactly what you have as your trigger's location for the other drive.
You can find me at #Invision on irc.irchighway.net or #OldGames on irc.undernet.org if you need me for anything.

This is the one that works:

C:\Program Files\#Mp3-HQ Script\Download\thisweeks

This one doesnt:

F:\Music

the music folder on the f drive contains sub-folders of months and weeks etc

Possible...

Depending on your paths, if the length of the paths/filenames is too long, they will not work. Also, if they filenames/paths include special characters, they *may* not work for that reason as well. By the sounds of it, your paths are very long and that's probably the reason.

F:\Music\March 05\14-03-05\examplefile.tar

Yeah, try that... should work, but you never know. If it doesn't, try stopping by the #Invision channel listed below tonight and see if I'm around and I'll take a look. Your best bet is to hang out in the channel for awhile as I'm not always at my computer.
