I think he means turning it off altogether. I've been having some issues with it as well. For example, I was linking to a profile page for myself, and I said:

Me: (profile link)

Well, someone had the name "Medli" and it thought I wanted to use that instead when I just wanted it to say "me", so it ended up like:

«Medli» (profile link)

I just want it to leave things alone and send the text the way I type it. Just changing the info in the box doesn't turn off the auto complete junk.
