NUMANOID, invision is just a script that was made for the irc program mIRC, invision was made with the idea of sharing in mind, there are many other irc programs out there, that ppl still use to connect to irc servers. invision and irc are related, but not the same thing. and creating a seperate channel to serv only to ppl you want to is not hard, all you have to do is type /join #<channel name that you want> and you will join the channel, and if the channel does not have anyone in it, and is not registered with chanserv or another irc server channel service, then you will automatically get ops for the channel, then you can register with the server's service (again, this is normally named chanserv, but not always). it really isn't as hard as you think it is, try playing around with it with making a channel yourself, or you can visit L|B's site and learn more on how to use (and thusly be able to abuse) irc.
p.s. excursion sucks hard
