Unknown character in fserver triggers

Postby gimmefreestuff » Thu Oct 04, 2007 6:52 pm

File Server Online Triggers:«/ctcp nickhere Topics · /ctcp nickhere 0-L · /ctcp nickhere M-Z ,» Sends:«2/2» Queues:«2/5»

For some reason my trigger has a coma ( , ) after my last trigger right before the ( » )
how do i get rid of this? i have re-installed invision sept update and its still there!

I assume you have checked your triggers already, but try just changing the trigger to something else. See if it still has the comma. Also try disabling that third trigger and see if you have the comma, or add a fourth trigger to see.

That will let us know if it's related to that one trigger or to all triggers.

I have changed triggers, added more and tried to just us one or two triggers, but the coma remains in the trigger. Also the ( , )comma is colored the same as the ( » ) not the color of the trigger itself.

What font are you using? And what are your settings in Alt-O > IRC > Messages (the checkboxes on the bottom)?

Hm, I can't reproduce this. However, in the September update there was a change in the way various outputs were displayed in order to allow foreign characters to appear correctly. The fserv ad was part of that change. After consideration, that has already been removed from the change, so that may help you once the October release comes out.

Even so, there shouldn't be anything next to that bracket even with the September release. You said you reinstalled the September update, but have you tried a clean full install of September without importing settings? Most likely the updates didn't change whatever is affecting your display because the updates don't affect settings. Even with the October update, once it's released, you may still need a clean install to get rid of that comma problem.

OK news update... I uninstalled all mirc and invision related stuff. Did a new install of invision w/sept update and i still have the comma after the last triggers. No settings or anything were imported. I did a clean install in new location.

I don't know where that is coming from, then. I'd suggest waiting and trying the October release when it comes out and see if that solves the problem for you. I'll keep looking into it, but I really don't have any ideas right now.

Can you copy your ad for me using Ctrl so that you copy all of the control codes as well? Then paste it in here? I want to see if it's related to control codes.

Well, I can see the problem with the output, but I'm not sure yet why it is doing that.
