Postby supernova88 » Mon May 09, 2005 1:16 am

Ok hello, now everytime I set up and xdcc server I have my packs and all that, and when I set them up and advertise I get people requesting but the problem is when people get the file sent to the,m it goes at a horrible transfer rate and than ends up closing. Now I was stunned by this and thought oh well mayeb it was just they arre on a bad connection but than I dcc sent the same guy the same file and it went prfectly fine and stayed on the same transfer rate and went higher, so I was puzzled and decided to ask you guys if you would know what my problem is and how to fix it... Thanks!

Ports

Postby Riamus » Mon May 09, 2005 5:54 am

See what ports you're sending on from XDCC and what ones you're sending on from manual sends... that may be your problem. XDCC and DCC are the exact same thing.

Also make sure you don't have your send speeds limited in any way... such as the speeds in DCC Manager.

Receiver

Ask the person receiving the files. They'll get a message saying something like "supernova88 is attempting to you send filename on port ****".

Just test with both methods to see if they are different ports. To change ports, use Alt-O > Connect > Options > Advanced.
