Many cable modems are Routers themselves. That means that even if you have a router, your modem is *also* a router. So you would have to set that up for sending.

I dunno what modems you've been using Riamus, but all the cable modems i've ever used/set up for others aren't configurable like a router. all the modem's info is given to it by the isp's server.
