Check this

Right click on the channel in your channel bar and look down the popup menu about half way. There's an option for "Beeping" and for "Flashing"... see if either are checked or not. If one of them is, that's probably the cause.

Sure, beeping is ticked by default. It has enabled in every channel of every irc script i have ever used. never had this problem before. I know that unticking it will stop this beeping, but it will also stop other beeps that i want to hear.

What other Beeping do you want to hear?

That is not checked by default you had to have turned it on , as for the beeping that is what the Invision voices are used for. If you want certain beeps then enable sounds under the Mirc Options and set the Beeps for those events or enable the Invision Sound Manager and actualy hear the issue and not guess the beep count

I did enable the mIRC beeps for the specific events i needed to hear beeps for but i also get beeps for /me, which happen alot more regulary.

So now i do have no mIRC sounds and just use the invision sounds, but the private message sound is driving me nuts, especially with people who seem to type each word of their sentence on a new line.

Though this is my only problem with Invision and it is a very nice script, so i will have to learn to do without some of the sounds i need.

Thanks for your help, i do appreciate it, even if the problem wasn't solved :)

Change the sounds

Postby Riamus » Fri Dec 05, 2003 9:48 am

You can always change the Invision sound files. Just replace the sounds in your Sound folder with new sounds. Get a beep sound if you want in wav format and rename it to the various sound files in Invision's Sound folder.
