how to show text when using brief ad?

hi, i'm kind of new to this so sorry for any newbie mistakes. i'm using the xdcc server and i'm putting an ad in the MOTD part of the xdcc manager, but when i right click in the channel and go Server Controls->XDCC->Brief ad->Start it still doen't show the ad that i typed? this is probably an easy question, but i couldn't find an answer when searching for it in here, so i figured i would post it. any help is appreciated, thanks.

Try selecting Full Add I think The brief just shows files and trigger.

by full ad do you mean verbose ad? my server is in use right now and i don't want to advertise in the channel if i don't have an open slot, but i will give it a try when it's free and try to remember to post here if it worked or not, thanks
