not triggering files on \sound in channel

Postby Starmaster » Wed Aug 13, 2003 6:20 pm

I have looked everywhere for a solution. sounds are on, it works in mIRC. I am not the only one with this problem. The rest that wanted it either switched, or loaded excursion over invision. Please tell me I am just messing up a setting? Or is there 1 remote script to unload to use mIRC defaults. Once again, sounds typed in channel DO NOT PLAY. They only appear in my status window

invision 2.0 build 2520 over mIRC 6.02

social outburst or if someone types /sound (filename.wav)
shows in status window but doesn't trigger sound. And yes it is all enabled. works with mirc but invision kills it! It does point to the correct folder, box is checked. Do I need to make a certain trigger or something?

on newer invision the soundfx is separate install so you wont get the sounds like bitch slap and the shooting. u can download it from http://invision.virtuallysurreal.net/ then u will see the soundFX. Hope that is what u wanted.

(sigh) thanks for the attempt. OK. I have the files. It is set up for it. As far as I know, I have it enabled. I can activate the sound and I hear it. So far, so good. Now if someone else does the activation for the same file it shows that they did it in my status window. I do not however hear the sound played. I need to find out if I have a wrong setting in the setup or if it is something in invision. Not just one install of invision. I have done 3. It worked in mirc and quit after invision was installed. If anyone knows, please tell me how to contact you!

meaning the sounds in file/options/sounds/request in mirc when someone types /sound (filename)

narrowed down. It is a bug in the ictcp.mrc file.

if you are referring to SoundFX, they need to type a specific word(s) to trigger the sound event.

If it doent match exactly what the trigger is, it wont work.

Also keep in mind, it will not work instantly every time as there is alot goin on with the script and there is a bit of "lag", also to many triggers in a row, will also cause some to be missed/skipped

not refering to soundFX. that worked and scared the tar out of me one day
I mean the /sound hello.wav that will cause hello.wav to be played on another persons computer. I can trigger theirs but they can not trigger mine
Ictcp.mrc blocks it for some reason and it only appears in the status window
if I unload ictcp.mrc then that works. but what else gets disabled?
