Slow scrolling in Invision

Postby dzjepp » Sun Mar 07, 2004 9:32 pm

Hi,

When I scroll down in Invision the window scrolls down slowly. I can see 'lag' sort of like it is slightly delayed before it reaches the destination (where I scrolled to). It's kind of annoying.

I formatted last week and before this I have not noticed this happening. I have adequate refresh rate on the desktop (85Hz) and I used ReForce to get rid of the '60Hz bug' in XP.

I don't know if this happens in other mIRC clients, I have not tested it. Maybe I will, but in the mean time would you know what could be causing this?

Thanks.

Buffer?

Perhaps your Buffer is too large?

Check Alt-O > Other. If the buffer is too large, you may notice lag when doing things such as using Find in the window. So perhaps it may also slow down your scrolling. Try lowering the value and see what happens.

It didn't help much, if at all. :/ I had the buffer @ 600, now I set it to 200. Any specific value I should try?

You should have been fine at 600. Sometimes people have it really high (such as 5000 or 10000) and that is when you get the slow down.

I'm not sure what else could be the problem on this. I've never experienced any slowdown in scrolling before. You could try a clean install, and also scan for trojans/viruses. Remember when scanning that normal virus scanners don't always detect trojans... you may want to get a trojan scanner such as Swat-It.

And, so you know... the screen's refresh rate doesn't have any affect on this, so don't worry about messing around with that any more.
