hy there peeps,

Tried google, but no answer found yet. I hope you guys can help me

Current situation:
People can connect and download from my server but can't resume!

Now my question:

How can I make it work so people can resume from my server.

I use a Level-one router and have the latest firmware.

Are you using Reverse DCC so they can download? Or did you set up your router correctly to allow downloading normally?

Check Invision menu > DCC Manager > Setup tab > halfway down is Global Reverse DCC... if checked, then you're using Reverse DCC... please reply with whether or not you're using Reverse DCC.

As far as i know my router is correctly set up.
But I wouldn't know how you can set it up for 'allowing normal downloading'. You mean open the right ports? If so, I have.

I havn't set Reverse DCC, because they can download without it.

I tried it once to set it up, but than they couldn't even connect to my server. Even when I put the right ports open en gave a range on my router that matched the one on the IRC-settings

Well, if you're not using Reverse DCC and people can connect and download, then your resumes should work just fine. The only problems I have seen for resumes are when using Reverse DCC.

You should turn on "Isolate DCC Notices" from the Setup tab in DCC Manager and see what happens when it tries to resume. For instance, does it show the person's nick or their IP when trying to resume... if it's showing an IP (or N/A), then it's not able to find the person based on their IP information that is being saved.

Also, note that some people have resume turned off on their DCC options.

Some things to check...

1) Is your fserv attempting to resend the file when you fail?
2) Is your fserv set up to auto-resend files?
3) Is the person downloading set up to resume files?
4) What does your DCC Information say? (from "Isolate DCC Notices")

I don't know if this will help but one thing i always check on new mIRC installation is View > Options > Connect > Options > Advanced > Check box for "Bind all sockets to this ip address:" > enter external ip.

Let us know if you fix it though and how.

About resume not working.
There are some firewalls out there that tries to do NAT translation on DCC requests and fails. They seem to get it right on DCC send and get, but not on resume. Check your firewall documentation for a way to turn off NAT for IRC data.
I know it's "ip nat service irc off" on ZyXEL ZyWALL, and it's probably the same on linksys boxes.
