Lost options

Postby Apexi » Thu Nov 12, 2009 7:32 am

Yes yes, i'm back again with more problem.
I made i complete new install of Invision last week (Invision 3.1.1)

Since then i notice that all my options (just for Invision) just go blank. Even the colors/sound/costum kicklist etc.
I dont know how or why, but this happens every day with no "error message"
Fortunately i made a backup on all the options si i can restore them, but this is anoying me.

Without more details, there's little I can help you with. Most likely, your folder isn't allowing you to write to it, though. You'll have to give yourself full access to the Invision folder and subfolders so Invision can write your settings when you change them. This is especially important in Vista and Windows 7.
You can find me at #Invision on irc.irchighway.net or #OldGames on irc.undernet.org if you need me for anything.

I cant really explain in more details because i dont know any more.
I'm running WinXP is i alwas has, i made i fresh install with the latest version.
All settings are fine couple days, whereupon it just goes blank every other day or so.
And that without any special, i just notice that my wordwatch etc want work anymore and i have to run the restore meny again.

If there's not any fix for this, wich file can i matk as "read only" to get the settings permanent?

Read only isn't likely to make much difference and prevents all kinds of regular saving from happening that will cause you a lot of other errors. If you're losing data like that, you might want to run a chkdsk on your drive to make sure it's not damaged in any way. Beyond that, it's something on your system as no one else has had that issue, so unless you can troubleshoot it, there isn't anything I can do from this end.
