I need some help with queuing XDCC files and invision

Postby oooblargh » Fri Feb 29, 2008 3:52 am

Hi, I'm pretty new to IRC and brand new at invision. I was looking through all the tools and stuff available, but I feel really lost in all the stuff!

I'm downloading files from an XDCC bot, and I was wondering if there was a way to somehow set up a file or something with several /msg <bot> xdcc send #(packnumber) to send after the last send completes? What I've been doing is putting them in manually when I notice a get is complete (there is no queue line) but is there any feature or way that after a get is complete it sends the msg for the next one I want?

Thanks ahead for any help, and sorry if I don't make sense!

No, Invision doesn't do that for you and probably never will. The reason is that XDCC servers do not appreciate people using scripts to download from them in such a way. Also, many XDCC servers will ban (from the channel or just the XDCC bot) any user found doing that. This also applies to scripts that will automatically request a failed pack each time it fails.

Keep in mind that XDCC packs are generally full size packs, or at most they are split into 2-5 packs depending on the size. That means there's no reason to need to request additional packs after one finishes in most cases unless the XDCC bot has more files that you want.
You can find me at #Invision on irc.irchighway.net or #OldGames on irc.undernet.org if you need me for anything.
