Dumb question. How do you start invision w/o mIrc? I just installed invison with mIrc 6.17 and would like to set the global as you suggested.
Question 2: If I install the 3515-B patch, do I still do the changes you outlined in bugs and quick fixes dated 7/26/06?

You start normally, but just do not connect to a server. That's how you can set up the globals.
And, yes. You should do the fixes mentioned in the sticky you mentioned. Those are new ones we've found since the patch was released.
