autocomplete?

I'm wondering how to turn the feature off (if it is a feature) I'll type something like, # (as in what #) and it'll put in the channel name instead of just #. Highly annoying, at least to me. How would I turn it off?

That's part of mIRC. I'm not sure that it can be turned off. To avoid the problem, press Ctrl-Enter when you need a # to appear by itself.
