Why can't i get onto DALnet? Haven't used this in 5 years

I haven't used mirc and invision for about five years and can't get into dalnet. Is there a new server like dalnet? What is it?

It keeps saying "Unable to connect to server (connection timed out)" I'm really not very experienced at this.

Try /server jade.va.us.dal.net ... it usually connects. If you still can't, then you might need to check your router/firewall settings if the issue is wih all networks.

What happened to just plain old irc.dal.net?

It all depends how the server hubs are doing. If they're having problems, the irc. us. and eu. may not work. Also, you may end up with the servers that the hub address (the irc. is a hub address) is trying to connect to are down... sometimes the hubs don't always try all addresses and you can end up with not being able to connect. It's always good to try specific server addresses if you have problems with a hub address.
