Depending on what script(s) you might be using in addition to Invision and if you're using a firewall or a router with a firewall, this can happen.

Firewalls can be set to block all ping/version/finger requests (many are set that way by default). Other scripts can also be set to block those replies. Try those with another user, or even on another network.

hah i'm going to kill myself now. well.....i just fucking remembered i blocked all ctcps from non friends and ops because on the server there are java users and when they do the emos it says invalid ctcp and notices them ;\ how do i make it not notice them and have it so it's not blocking.
